About The Show

As Liminal Latinas, neither fully from here nor fully from there, Jasleni Brito and Caroline Finnegan have built a body of work from the threads of what they were given to heal from, and what they were given to heal with. They look to their mothers, and the mothers before them, as a direct and sacred lineage of power.

Patterns show up everywhere: in the art, in the themes, in the way we move through our lives. Latinas might be known for fiery stubbornness, opinionated, passionate, and co-dependent AF, but we are also brilliant, resilient, and revolutionary. You'll see all of that here.

Expect original paintings on wood and canvas from Jasleni, and handmade ceramics from Caroline. The seeds of this project were planted on the Equinox, because we are all seeds planted by those who came before us, blooming for those yet to come.

Immigrant or not, we all face the hard stuff. And we all choose how we rise beyond what would keep us small.

All the works are available for purchase. Learn more about the artists and the art below!

The Artists behind Patterns of Generation

JASLENI BRITO - THE PAINTER

Jasleni Brito is an artist, confidence coach, and creator of La Caribeña Oracle Deck. She grew up in Santiago, Dominican Republic, where color, ritual, and storytelling were woven into everyday life — and she has been painting ever since.

Now rooted in Connecticut, her work on wood and canvas draws from ancestral memory, Caribbean roots, and the quiet wisdom we too often overlook. Paint, for Jasleni, is prayer. Color is language. And every piece is an invitation — to slow down, reconnect with your magic, get clear on your path, and remember that everything you need, you already carry.

Her most personal work to date, La Caribeña Oracle Deck, is a 50-card deck of original paintings channeling the wisdom, beauty, and resilience of the Caribbean. It is part divination tool, part love letter to her roots.

As a confidence coach, Jasleni works with big dreamers who are done playing small. She helps them move from overthinking and perfectionism into action, clarity, and the life they actually want — using creativity as the catalyst.

Her art, her coaching, and her oracle work are all expressions of the same truth: you already have everything you need. The work is simply remembering.

CAROLINE FINNEGAN - THE CERAMICIST

Caroline Finnegan began her ceramics journey in 2016, after an artist friend encouraged her to study with Connecticut legend John Macomber, having seen pieces she made in a community college class.

Art had long lived beneath her surface, any expression held back by a harsh inner critic and perfectionism. Ceramics changed that, and unleashed her voice.

Caroline was lit up by the power of creating to her desire. The studio became her crucible and through time making she changed herself into an artist. It didn’t matter what the piece looked like - how did making it feel? What did holding it evoke? What does this contain? What did this piece wake up?

Her forms are intuitive, and their surfaces unplanned - an open dialogue between spirit and clay. Her signature polka dot serves as a prayer for peace, each one a mantra “Peace” spoken into being as it’s placed. The connecting lines express an unrestrained flow.

Over the past decade, Caroline has used art to explore her curiosity, unravel patterns, and reshape her way of being. This practice became essential when a spinal cord injury nearly left her paralyzed. While rebuilding her life and moving from a wheelchair back to the pottery wheel, art became both light and lifeline.

She works with a sense of presence shaped by years of meditation and healing practices, allowing intention to move through her heart and hands. Each piece carries her time, love, and has its own meaning. Through her work, Caroline creates portals for healing, protection, and joy and hopes they weave their magic through your life in ways large and small.
