Who I Am As An Artist
I was born in the Bronx and raised in the Dominican Republic. My relationship with art began before I had language for it. Drawing was how I processed the world.
Today my work is guided by intuition, memory, ritual, and the unseen threads that connect us to our lineage. I paint what I feel more than what I see. Symbols emerge. Color becomes language. Faces hold story.
My practice is devotional. Each piece is created slowly and intentionally, often in conversation with dreams, ancestry, and personal transformation.
Collectors often tell me the work feels alive. That is always the intention.
The Art
My paintings explore identity, spirituality, femininity, and cultural memory, but they begin with feeling. I follow what wants to come through.
Most of my work is painted on wood. I love that it once lived. I love that it has grain, knots, and its own history. I don’t try to cover that up. I work with it. The lines of the wood move through the piece like quiet memory underneath the image.
Faces tend to emerge. Symbols appear without being forced. Color carries emotion before words ever could. The natural surface, the bold pigment, the softness and the intensity all exist together.
I’m not interested in making art that's just decorative. I want the work to feel alive. Like it’s holding something. Like it’s looking back at you.
