TRANSFORMATION: Shedding Old Skin

Curvy Caribbean woman with flowers blooming from her head and a serpent shedding its skin below, painting symbolizing transformation and self-love.

This painting is about the courage it takes to become yourself.

In Transformation, a woman stands surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers. She’s smiling, grounded, and completely at home in her body. At her feet, a serpent sheds its skin — a symbol of renewal, growth, and the cycles of change we all move through.

For me, this piece is deeply about self-love. Not the fluffy kind. The real kind that asks you to accept every part of yourself — the beautiful parts, the messy parts, and the parts still evolving.

Transformation isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about shedding the layers that were never really you.

When I later created La Caribeña Oracle Deck, this painting naturally became the TRANSFORMATION card — the final card in the deck. The destination of the journey. The moment when you step fully into who you are meant to be.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

We are always evolving. Always shedding. Always blooming again.
